There was a fisherman who lived near by a river. Everyday he went for fishing in the river and he sold the fish in the market and earned his livelihood.
One day the fisherman went for fishing in the river as usual. He cast his net into the river and sat waiting for the fish to get into the net. The fisherman wanted his daughter to get married. So he had to earn more money by selling the fish.
He dreamt of as if he was conducting his daughter's marriage in a grand manner by getting a good yield of fish from the river. The burning sun disturbed him and he came to reality. He expected a very good catch.
The fisherman drew the net up and he was very much shocked because he saw only one single tiny fish in it. Taking the fish out, he put it into his basked. He cast his net again into the river for another try.
At that time the tiny fish begged him, "Please sir, leave me back into the river otherwise I will die within a few minutes". "Why should I?" asked the fisherman.
"I am very small now, so, I am of little use for you. But after a few days, I shall grow fairly big. You can catch me at that time that I shall be more useful to you," replied the fish.
But the fisherman refused to leave the fish from his hands. He said that, "I am not going to be foolish in any way. It is well said that we should not give up certain things for the uncertain".
