Once upon a time there lived an old couple in a village. As they prayed daily to god, they had been gifted a beautiful goose that laid a golden egg everyday. They were indeed quite rich soon. But the old man was not happy with what he got daily. He was a greedy type of man.
The old man wanted to get all the golden eggs from the goose at a single go. So, he thought hard and at last got a great plan. He decided to kill the goose and to get all the eggs at the single stroke.
So, the next morning when the goose laid the golden egg, he caught hold of it and with the help of his wife, he chopped off the neck of the goose. When he cut open the body of the goose he was shocked to see that there were no golden egg inside the stomach of the goose.
The old man’s sorrow was untold. He become poorer and poorer day after day. At last, he became a pauper.
