The Lion and the Mouse

It was a hot summer day in a forest. A lion after having a good meals was fast asleep in the cool shade of a big tree. The lion had a sound sleep that it did not know what was happening around it.

A playful mouse lived in a nearby hole. Suddenly the mouse came out of its hole and it noticed the sleeping lion. The playful mouse was unmindful of the lion's strength. He was ticled by a funny idea. It thought of walking the lion by running over the lion's body.

But to it's bad luck, the lion woke up and got it by it's strong paw. The lion roared loudly and said, "How dare you are to run on my body and I am going to eat and fininsh your story". Suddenly the mouse begged to the lion, "Please forgive me and spare my life, sir; I may repay your mercy someday".

The lion was pleased with the silly mouse and let it go with a smile. A few days later, unfortunately the lion was caught in a hunter's net under the same tree where it met the silly mouse. The lion roared loudly in pain.

The mouse which was sleeping, came out of it's hole on hearing the lion's roar. It thought that it was the right time to repay the lion's mercy. So in a moment it nibbled the net which trapped the lion and set the lion free.

Moral : Small things can do big jobs.
